Police have taken multiple teens into custody overnight, who they allege broke into more than nine homes, businesses and vehicles and threatened an elderly couple.

Stalking Our Streets

An elderly couple were subjected to a harrowing home invasion, with police alleging the teens broke into their Newtown home while they were asleep.

The couple woke to find the boys in their Gladstone Street home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police further alleged that the boys were armed with a weapon and threatened the residents before fleeing with their property.

“No one was injured,” Toowoomba Detective Acting-Senior Sergeant John Cunningham said.

They were arrested overnight and were held in police custody ahead of an appearance in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court where their cases were adjourned to a later date.

Police alleged the teens broke into several properties over the week and were seen fleeing on electric scooters.

The boys are charged with dozens of offences including robbery, entering a dwelling with intent, entering a premise committing an indictable offence and stealing.
