Christopher William Chamberlain, Christopha Kim Thiemann charged with possessing stolen firearm

The two men accused of leading police on a pursuit through Toowoomba have had their matters briefly mentioned in court.

Christopher William Chamberlain and Christopha Kim Thiemann were arrested on Toowoomba Athol Rd at about 3.30pm on Wednesday after allegedly leading police on a purstui in a stolen Ford Ranger which came to an end after a tyre deflation device was used on the vehicle.

Witnesses reported seeing police vehicles travelling at high speeds and crossing into oncoming traffic while in pursuit of the Ranger.

Christopha Kim Thiemann, 34, faced Toowoomba Magistrates Court Thursday, charge with unlawful possession of a weapon.

This vehicle had been reported stolen from a Flagstone address on August 13.

Police further allege the men were in possession of an illegal, double-barrelled shotgun.

Christopher William Chamberlain, 29, was charged with two counts of stealing, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of vehicle, driving under the influence, evading police, unlawful possession of weapons, driving without licence, obstruct police officer, and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

Christopha Kim Thiemann, 34, was charged with two counts of stealing, and one count each of entering dwelling, obstructing police, receiving tainted property, unlawful possession of weapons, unlawful use of motor vehicle and wilful damage.

Neither man made applications for bail when they appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court and their matters were adjourned to September 21.
