Police arrested the pair on Toowoomba Athol Rd about 3.30pm, Wednesday, August 30, after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in a stolen Ford Ranger which came to an end after police “stingers” were deployed, deflating the Ranger’s tyres.

Police allege the vehicle had been stolen from a Flagstone Creek address on August 13 and it is further alleged the men had unlawful possession of a double-barrelled shotgun in the car.

Mr Chamberlain has been charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of entering a dwelling and committing an offence, receiving tainted property, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving under the influence, evading police, unlawful possession of weapons, unlicensed driving, obstructing police and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

His solicitor Paige Hetherington, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, told the court on Thursday she was still waiting for some police material and asked for an adjournment.

Magistrate Louise Shephard therefore remanded Mr Chamberlain in custody and adjourned his matters for mention back in the same court on November 11.

Mr Thiemann, who is charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of entering dwelling, obstructing police, receiving tainted property, unlawful possession of weapons, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage, was likewise adjourned to a later date.

Neither accused has been as yet required to enter any pleas to their respective charges.
