One of two men police were looking for after they allegedly fled a stolen car in Toowoomba on Thursday morning has been found and remanded in custody.

Brody Scott Thompson, 18, was arrested on Friday and spent the night in the Toowoomba watch house where he remained when his matters were mentioned in the city’s Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Duty lawyer Brad Skuse told the court Thompson was on parole and asked that his matters be adjourned to Monday so the status of his parole could be ascertained.

There would be no application for bail at this stage, Mr Skuse said.

Police claim Thompson and another man fled a stolen Volkswagen Golf which had its tyres spiked by police stingers in Harlaxton early Thursday morning.

It was alleged the car was stolen about 3am that morning and had stopped at a 7 Eleven service station in Highfields to refuel.

However, a quick thinking console attendant shut down the pump, preventing them from obtaining fuel.

The vehicle was eventually found in Hillside Street, Rockville, and a dog squad tracked and arrested the alleged female passenger 29-year-old Kelly Patricia Pearl Nolan.

Ms Nolan would contest charges arising from that alleged incident, however, she appeared in custody before Toowoomba Magistrates Court Saturday morning to plead guilty to unlawfully using another motor vehicle and unlicensed driving having been seen driving a reportedly stolen car on Friday.

The vehicle had been stolen about 6.30am Friday and was found at 3am Saturday in Wilsonton, police prosecutor Kinsley Weir told the court.

Senior Constable Weir said Nolan had eight pages of criminal history including multiple previous convictions for unlawfully using motor vehicles and submitted for a term of imprisonment.

However, Nolan’s solicitor Callum Wood said his client instructed she had been trying to return the vehicle.

His client had recently lost her partner after the pair had moved to Cunnamulla to address drug problems and his client had a bus ticket to return to Cunnamulla Sunday morning, he said.

Magistrate Clare Kelly sentenced Nolan to six months in jail but ordered she be released on immediate parole and disqualified her from driving for six months.

Ms Kelly remanded Thompson in custody and adjourned his matters to Monday.

Police are still looking for the other man believed to have been in the car at the time.
