Breanna Maree Harrold got drunk at Weetwood and ended up losing in court

The 31-year-old had a big day at Weetwood and ended up in court. It was a sure bet the court would take her money.

A day at the races has left a Toowoomba woman counting her losses after being fined in the city’s Magistrates Court arising from a drunken fight with her sister after the races.

After a day’s drinking at Weetwood Handicap Day at Clifford Park Racecourse, Breanna Maree Harrold, 31, had gone around to her sister’s place who she hadn’t seen for some time, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

However, as she was packing up her belongings to leave, the two sisters got into an argument and Harrold was shown the door, police prosecutor Anita Page told the court.

Not long after the complainant woman heard her sister banging on windows from outside, she said.

Harrold had then thrown a chair from outside through the window and then poked her hand in, dislodging some blinds, Ms Page said.

She then re-entered the house and pushed over and smashed a television set, she said.

Harrold then left the house but was soon arrested by police and taken to the watch house where a pat-down search of her clothing found she had a small amount of MDMA (ecstasy) on her, the court heard.

Ms Page said the complainant woman claimed the cost of damage to her property was $740 which Harrold had since paid.

Harrold pleaded guilty to wilful damage and possessing a dangerous drug.

Her solicitor Jag MacDonald, of MacDonald Law, told the court his client had been to Weetwood that day with her sister and both were drunk at the time of the incidents.

His client was in employment in administration and realised she had acted poorly on this occasion.

Magistrate Clare Kelly told Harrold she had acted “very poorly” and fined her $500 but ordered the convictions not be recorded.
