The Western Clydesdales will pay tribute the Darling Downs and its proud military history this weekend.
The Hostplus Cup side will don a commemorative ANZAC jersey when they play Brisbane Tigers on Sunday.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to represent the region of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs,” Western Clydesdales CEO Shane Sullivan said.
“We know how strong of a history the area has with the armed forces.
“In our design, we wanted to pay homage by incorporating the Table-Top mountain range.
“We chose to include a silhouette of the range in the centre of the jersey and beneath it we added silhouettes of Diggers.”
Ahead of ANZAC Day next Tuesday, Sullivan said the club wanted to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and currently enlisted military personnel.
“We are very proud to wear the jerseys at our next game against the Brisbane Tigers on Sunday, and be apart of the QRL ANZAC round,” he said.
“We know how much it means to everyone.”
