The 2025 Western Clydesdales Harvey Norman under-19 side may look vastly different compared to 2024, but fear not, this team is still the real deal.

From rising stars making the step up from the under-17s, to the senior leaders within the group looking to build on an impressive 2024, there is talent right across the board.

For coach Elle Moss, building on last season, where the Clydesdales made it to the semi-final has been one of her key focuses.

“We do have a fairly new team, we have some leaders that played last year but we’ve pretty much got a fresh squad,” she said.

“The girls have had a big pre-season, they’re very connected throughout the whole pre-season and they played well in their trial against Tigers so I am looking forward to round 1.

“That’s (2024 season) laid a really good platform, the girls are really fired up.

“They definitely stepped up and showed that you don’t have to be the biggest team, you’ve just got to want it more than others.

“I was proud of them last year and they are fired up this year ready to go.”

Players to watch

“Our leadership girls that played last year, Eliza Morcom, Chelsea Middleton, Lucy Davis and Libby Dunn, they are always going to lead from the front, however, every single girl is going to make their mark,” Moss said.

Mia Byrnes is coming back ready to go, she was one of the under-17 girls that played very well last year that will really push this year and go that extra one per cent.

“They (the 2024 under-17 players in this squad) have been pushed in the (under) 19s pre-season so they’re fitter, stronger and stepping into this with a better understanding of the game all-round.”

Western Clydesdales squad: Mia Byrnes, Ella Byrnes, Zoe Robson, Angel Austin, Charlotte Collie, Lucy Davis, Anna Park, Libby Dunn, Amelia O’Toole, Pypah Ferguson, Tayla Horrobin, Ella Waters, Lille Merlow, Eliza Morcom, Aaliyah Murray, Sophia Wright, Sophie Pender, Nicole Robertson, Eden Passmore, Bridie Sabburg, Yazelle van Dyk, Cheyenne Zirbel, Jacki Diete, Sienna Carr, Reagan McMillan, Chelsea Middleton.
