From Shenae Ciesiolka to David Armstrong and Ash Taylor, the Darling Downs and South West has been a hotbed for rising rugby league talent in Queensland for decades.

We shine a light on the stars of the under-13 Toowoomba Junior Rugby League competition who could continue the region’s legacy into the future.

Allie-Parker Egel (Dalby Diehards)

An exciting player who loves to score tries.

Allie offers a lot to the team and shows great sportsmanship on and off the field.

She has a great set of skills and knowledge and recently found her place playing in the halves expertly steering the team around the field.

She is also a fantastic utility player to date who played lock last year and now wears the No. 7 jersey.

Neveah Horswood (Dalby Diehards)

A tackling machine who can always be counted on to stop runners in their tracks.

Nevaeh is still fairly new to the team but her skills speak for themselves and she gives everything she has in every game.

Montaya Domjahn (Dalby Diehards)

A fierce forward who joined the side last year and has quickly established herself in the team.

Montaya works hard up the middle making valuable metres for the side and countless tackles.

Mia Johnson (Dalby Diehards)

New to rugby league Mia was hesitant to accept the fullback role but she has taken to it like a duck to water.

A natural athlete she has filled in on the wing and at second row and gives so much to the team.

Nate Gill (Highfields Eagles)

A damaging second rower with great hands and footwork, his vision to create opportunities for his teammates is instrumental to the team.

Nate is also a natural leader.

Trey Gamberini (Highfields Eagles)

A hard hitting lock with a high work rate who turns up every week.

Trey is reliable on both sides of the ball and has the ability to break the defensive line and is a master defender.

William Brush (Highfields Eagles)

Will is a hardworking middle forward who continues to develop his skills in both attack and defence every week.

He sets a positive example for other players with his repeat efforts, strong runs, and his ability to break a defensive line.

Lilah Prentice (Pittsworth Danes)

In just her first year of league Lilah is already showing great signs.

Drawing on her touch football skills she knows how to put her teammates through a gap and can kick a handy conversion when needed.

Heidi Sanders (Pittsworth Danes)

A crafty dummy half with great speed.

Heidi always pounces on opportunities turning half chances into great attacking opportunities.

Zahlar Sims (Pittsworth Danes)

The heart of the forward pack leads by example with power running and tackling.

Her teammates look to her and she always inspires them.

Skyhe Klein (Pittsworth Danes)

Hard to tackle and tough as nails.

Skyhe has embraced the team and is shining at fullback and takes great pride in bringing any opponent down, no matter their size.

Jaylen Cooper (Oakey Bears)

As captain and halfback of Jaylen brings leadership, direction, and organisation on and off the field.

His natural talent, along with his aggression in attack and defence, can change the tide of the game when he gets fired up.

Christopher Jervis (Oakey Bears)

Christopher is a tireless front rower who is the ultimate team player who leaves everything on the field.

His love for the game shows with his effort and attitude, as he leads from the front with unstoppable runs to set the pace on the game.

Selwyn Fernando (Oakey Bears)

Selwyn is a natural talent that could play in any position but is at his best wearing the number nine jersey.

He has a lethal step that leaves his opponents trailing in his dust and is a strong presence out on the field.

Harrison Wallace (Oakey Bears)

Harrison is an electric second rower who makes fast-paced solid runs.

Along with his running game, he has a fiery attitude and an unrivalled love for the game which makes for entertaining football when he is at his best.

Wayne Robinson (Souths Tigers)

A tall athletic middle forward who is a punishing defender and a very elusive ball runner.

Almost impossible to stop one-on-one, Wayne nearly always ranks among the best players on the field when he plays.

Jack Harrigan (Souths Tigers)

A tall centre with plenty of speed and a great step to match.

He is still learning the game but he can score a try out of nothing and when he is in the clear he’s very difficult to catch.

Jesse Moore (Souths Tigers)

A non-stop second rower that every team needs.

He always makes his tackles and is difficult to stop when he has the ball.

Continues to improve with every game.

Tahnee White (Highfields Eagles)

Tahnee is a strong front rower who is immense in attack and defence.

She is one of the most consistent players around and can always be counted on to break a game open.

Star Medland (Highfields Eagles)

A Star by name and a star by nature, Medland is the five-eighth who all the girls look up to and is everyone’s favourite player.

She never misses a tackle and has an elite kicking game.

Madison Meek (Highfields Eagles)

Madison is a rapid talent who makes her mark in both aspects of the game.

She is a strong ball runner and is not afraid to make a big statement run at her opponents.

Will Dayas (Valleys Roosters)

A gifted all-round footballer that can find space and the try line.

Solid in defence with a high work rate.

Bowie Ingram (Valleys Roosters)

A fast, free thinking footballer cut from the same cloth as a Reece Walsh.

Bowie is a great communicator and one of the busiest players on the field.

Brock Taylor (Valleys Roosters)

At home anywhere from centre to lock.

Brock is able to find space and the tryline and is solid in defence.

Koby Heit (Valleys Roosters)

An aggressive forward who plays no-nonsense defence and runs hard.

Hannah Sutton (Gatton Hawks)

Hannah is the one per cent player, who is not afraid to do all the hard hark and goes above and beyond to lead the team around the field.

Maddy Groves (Gatton Hawks)

Maddy is a go-to forward for Gatton who can kickstart a set for her side.

Ash-lee Foote (Gatton Hawks)

Ash-lee has great ball skills and continues to improve after every game she plays.

Calarni Peters (Gatton Hawks)

Calarni is new to the game but has already shone she has a future in the sport thanks to her outstanding skills.

Amber Bumstead (Newtown Lions)

A strong and destructive player in the forwards who always working hard in defence.

Amber has one of the highest work rates on the team and is a great leader on and off the field.

Damita Tapau (Newtown Lions)

A hard hitting forward who can also play in the backs.

Not afraid to chase someone down and always a great team player.

Malita Tapau (Newtown Lions)

Malita is willing to have a go at any position on the field.

She’s always ready to run the ball and is powerful in defence.

Tarliah Murdoch (Newtown Lions)

She might be one of the smallest on the field but that doesn’t stop her from getting in and making the big hits.

Her confidence is growing each week.
