Football Queensland has confirmed the details of the 2024 State Referee Conference, to be held on Saturday January 20 and Sunday January 21.

The conference will again be delivered in a hybrid format in 2024, with attendees invited to join the in-person event at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace or access the sessions from regional hubs via an online platform.

Following day one of the conference which is open to all referees, the second day will feature more in-depth practical sessions exploring specific referee concepts for NPL Queensland, FQPL and FQ Referee Academy match officials.

“As another year of football draws to a close, Football Queensland is pleased to announce next year’s State Referee Conference which will welcome new and experienced match officials from all parts of the state,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.

“The annual State Referee Conference provides an important opportunity for Queensland referees to come together ahead of the new season to learn from special guest speakers, get to know their peers and build relationships with fellow match officials.

“After the success of the hybrid event format in 2023, we’re excited to again deliver the 2024 State Referee Conference both in person and online, accommodating match officials at every level of the game from every region.

“Metro based referees are encouraged to register early to attend the in-person event at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace with only 250 spaces available, while FQ will also host in-person events in regional parts of the state for referees located across Queensland.”

Further information on regional viewing sites will be confirmed shortly and published on the Football Queensland website.

Gold Coast Feenix and Gold Coast Force sit in 1st and 2nd respectively in the Men’s competition at the close of round one, continuing the theme of South Coast domination of the Football landscape in Queensland in 2023.
