FOOTBALL: An undermanned Wolves produced the biggest shock of the 2018 TFL Premier Men's season at the weekend.
Capping off a great run of recent results, the Warwick outfit fought gamely to secure a 3-1 win over premiers Willowburn.
Coach Mick Willmot said the win was the result of a new-found attitude among his squad.
"I put the challenge to them a few weeks ago," Willmot said.
"In upped the ante at training, made things a little tougher, and now we're starting to see the results.
"They're playing with a lot more heart out there - a lot more desire.
Wilmot said the turning point for his side this season was their 0-0 draw with Rockville.
"That game was a big result for us," he said.
"From there we beat Wanderers 5-0, Gatton 3-0 and now Willowburn 3-1. The only game we dropped was against USQ 2-1 after the Wanderers win - they're the competition benchmark though so I was still pretty happy with that result.
"At the start of the season I said to them they needed to learn 'how to win games' - now they know."
Warwick opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half before extending their lead with a second goal. Wolves went into the break with a 2-1 lead after conceding just before half-time.
Willowburn had a goal disallowed late in the match with Warwick then moving quickly down-field to score their third.
