Cory McGrady signs with Brothers for 2025 Toowoomba Rugby League season

After a busy off-season last year, Brothers are busy once again with the massive signing of a talented TRL playmaker who brings Clydesdales and premiership-winning experience. Check out their off-season moves here in our TRL tracker.

Brothers have sent an early statement to its Toowoomba Rugby League counterparts that it means business in 2025 after the massive signing of elite playmaker Cory McGrady.

McGrady is a premiership winning half who featured heavily in the Western Clydesdales’ inaugural Hostplus Cup campaign in 2023.

Brothers president John Butler was delighted to add the playmaker to his club.

“We’re really excited we got Cory on board,” he said.

“We were looking for a leader and we found one, he’s pretty excited for the challenge ahead as well.

“We don’t want to just compete, we want to be back winning, we want to get back to that groove … and the only way to go forward is with a good leader.”

The Leprechauns have also added experienced outside back Harry Sterling to their line-up next season.

“He played rep for South Burnett in the 47th Battalion and he’s going to travel down and give his experience and know-how.”

While Brothers has been busy making several on-field signings, the club has also ushered in a new era off the field, with former premiership-winning captain Scott Schultz taking charge as A-grade head coach.

“He’s a dual premiership winner for the club in the early 2000s as captain for the club,” Butler said.

“He’s pretty excited about what’s ahead and we’ve been working hard to keep all of our players.”
