Toowoomba star Jed Hockin breaks American football Guinness World Record

Toowoomba social media star Jed Hockin has added another feather to his cap with a stunning new world record.

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, the social media star known for his various trickshots, set a new Guinness World Record for the most American football touches with the feet in one minute.

Hockin managed an amazing 215 in his record attempt.

The Darling Downs sporting star has several records to his name and when asked which record he values the most he said it was his new American football record.

“Probably this most recent one because I just feel as though it might be impossible to break again,” Hockin said.

“Obviously there is a chance it gets broken again but I’m pretty confident it can’t be broken again.”

While he has mastered the art of juggling several different balls, with football his forte, the American football was a new challenge which took two months of consistent training for him to master.

“The biggest challenge for me, as I have never been too familiar using an American football, it was getting used to how firm it was,” Hockin said.

“It is a very different shape, you have to hit the ball in the perfect spot, if you get it off centre you can’t recover it when you’re juggling so quick.”

With the Super Bowl coming up and his determination to take on a challenge, the chance to prove himself in American sports was a major inspiration for him.

“I want to challenge myself, previously I have done football, I have done content with Real Madrid, done content with the NRL and I guess I want to solidify myself as one of the best,” he said.

“I’m not the biggest NFL fan but that was why I wanted to try an NFL record.

“I have done content with big teams and records around the world but never really explored America.

“One of my goals is I want to get 10 world records and try get them all regularly.

“I have a lot more in mind, they do take a lot of training to break.”

Even with multiple world records to his name, Hockin admits he still finds himself pinching himself at times.

“I have currently got five (records) but I believe one of the earlier ones may have been broken but definitely four right now,” he said.

“Sometimes I don’t think about it because I'm so much in the moment and always creating content.

“But when you stop and think about it like you hold the record around the world, it is quite crazy when you think about it.”
