RUGBY UNION: The Australian Wallabies could learn a thing or two from Klaudia Shaw.

The TACAPS student has unquestionable passion for the game at every level - a passion that will be rewarded tomorrow night.

Having been nominated by her school, Shaw will be a flag bearer during Australia's Test match with Six Nations champions Ireland at Suncorp Stadium.

"I'm 100 per cent looking forward to it - I'm very excited," Shaw said.

"It's going to be such an honour to stand alongside the Wallabies and Ireland at Suncorp.

"I love my country and I love rugby - I can't wait."

Shaw's love for the game extends far beyond playing it and supporting her national team.

Her nomination for the flag-bearing honour was in part because of dedication to her teammates.

Sidelined by two serious knee injuries Shaw turned to helping her team succeed from the sidelines.

"I tore my anterior cruciate ligament playing in a South West 7s semi-final," she said.

"I had 12 months of full rehabilitation and that not long after I returned to playing I did it again - the same knee.

"Now I help coach while I'm recovering again.

"I think it's a special honour to be able to help teach other girls how to play and to support them how ever I can.

"I just love rugby - whether it's watching, playing or coaching."

Rugby union is also a great unifier for Shaw.

"I think it (rugby union) helps bring everyone together," she said.

"It doesn't matter where you are from, who you are or what you look like - everybody can play and enjoy rugby.

"I think it's amazing how we can all come together, share common goals and enjoy the game.

"I think it's especially important for young girls to have a positive outlet and rugby helps with that."
