Now a five-year-old, the Kevin Kemp-trained mare has gone around the track 24 times without securing that elusive win.
It’s not through a lack of trying, having finished in the minor placings on 13 occasions, including running second or third 11 times from 14 starts at her home track.
She again gets her chance to get off the mark in the Ezywalker Maiden Handicap (1300m), with Kemp hoping everything can go right tomorrow night.
“She’s a very honest horse and is always hard to beat,” Kemp said.
“Sometimes she just doesn’t have the best of luck.
“She’s not a very big mare, so she can tend to get hampered a bit.”
Last week she again loomed up to finish third here, just half a length off Krustallos.
With Skye Bogenhuber unavailable due to other commitments, Kemp will opt for the services of apprentice Kate Cowan, who brings her weight down to just 52.5kg.
“Skye rode her lovely last week, but she’s riding one of Michael Nolan’s so won’t be available,” he said.
“We’ll have Kate Cowan on board, and she’ll have no weight on her back.”
Racing at Clifford Park gets underway at 4.40pm, with the last on the seven-race program scheduled for 8.15pm.
KEMP’S TRIO SET TO TACKLE DOOMBEN
As well as his Clifford Park contender, Kemp will take three horses to Doomben tomorrow.
His first comes in the form of Alert And Ready in the QTIS 2YO Fillies Handicap (1110m), as she looks to break through at start four.
“She’s trained on good and ready to race again,” Kemp said.
“The formlines are there. Hopefully she can sit a bit closer in the run to get a good crack at them in the straight.”
Best To Hurry made a big impression at Clifford Park last start, setting the tempo before racing away by 2 ½ lengths, and Kemp said he has earned his shot in the QTIS 3YO Handicap (1350m).
“He’s pretty honest as well,” he said.
“He was strong (at Clifford Park) and deserves his chance down there.”
Tisani Magic had to lump a big weight at his home track last week, and Kemp hopes the drop can work in his favour in the Class 6 Plate (1350m).
“He had a big weight here the other day but raced well. This is a bit tougher but he’s down to 56kg from 62 and the 1350 will suit better.”
