SPEEDWAY : Tim Harris is hoping winning form can help carry the day when he looks to bring a state title win back to Toowoomba this weekend.
Harris is looking to make his first championship drive one to remember in tonight’s Queensland Wingless Sprint Championship.
Harris helped tune for tonight’s title challenge with his first A1 feature win last month in Brisbane.
The victory was a welcome return to racing for Harris and his brother and fellow team member Ryan after having written off his car in an Archerfield rollover last October.
Harris has not had the chance to race since his Brisbane break through but is hoping his February car speed can carry through to tonight’s event.
“I have a simulator at home, which originally got me interested in the real thing, to help keep my eye in and we’re looking forward to the challenge tomorrow night,” Tim said.
“We will be meeting a lot stronger line-up than our last race in Brisbane, but hopefully we can keep that good momentum going forward.
“We’ve tried to do everything we can to prepare well and with the help of one of our sponsors we have a new set of tires to race on.
“We’re aiming to do a lot more championships next year and this weekend might give us a guide to our progress.”
