RACING : Trainer Brett Baker is hoping consistent Toowoomba gelding Accumulated can cap a good week for his two-horse team when he chases back-to-back wins at Clifford Park tomorrow.

Accumulated is looking for a repeat effort of his last-start Kilcoy Benchmark 55 win in the St George AHC Class 4 Handicap (1210m).

Baker and jockey Skye Bogenhuber almost pulled off one of the Queensland racing season’s biggest upset wins last Sunday when Audio Bay was collared late for second at odds of 100-1 in the Fillies and Mares Class 1 Plate at the Sunshine Coast.

Accumulated meanwhile continued his recent improved form to break through at Kilcoy two weeks’ ago after narrow defeats at Beaudesert and Clifford Park.

Baker is hoping the Testa Rossa gelding can continue in the same groove tomorrow.

“He’s been going good since Skye (Bogenhuber) has been on him but there’s no obvious reason why he has raced so well at his last few,” Baker said.

“He’s always shown ability and some of his six second placings might have been wins if he could learn to settle better in his races.

“But he’s really in a groove at the moment and is in a happy place.

“The same as Audio Bay, they are just enjoying their racing.

“He’s drawn a little wide again on Saturday but hopefully he can give another good account of himself.”

Toughest for Accumulated to beat looks to include last-start Rockhampton winner Reef Knot for leading trainer Lindsay Hatch.
