LEAGUE: The Highfields Eagles have soared to great heights this season, and Cory Mcgrady has at times been the wind beneath their wings.
The crafty and experienced halfback added another piece of silverware to what is already an impressive trophy collection on Friday night.
Mcgrady edged out an impressive field to win Toowoomba Rugby League’s highest A-grade honour, the Webcke-Price Medal.
Haled as one of the signings of the season when he joined the Eagles from Valleys Roosters in 2020, Mcgrady has been a key part of Highfields’ premiership push this year.
Mcgrady and his teammates will be keen to keep their premiership dream alive when they face minor premiers Gatton on Sunday.
The winner of the match will play Wattles in the grand final next weekend.
Gatton’s Courtney-Lee Nolan was the other major award winner at the TRL’s gala awards night.
The Hawks hooker, who crossed the line 22 times to finish as the regular season’s leading try scorer, was presented with the Best and Fairest Open Women’s Hancock Edwards Medal.
Nolan and the Hawks booked their spot in the grand with an impressive 32-4 win over Newtown last weekend.
