Toowoomba real estate: Every suburb’s highest-selling property in 2022 revealed
Toowoomba’s housing market is booming, and it’s not isolated to a single suburb either. Here is every top property sale in your area and how house prices have grown over the past 12 months.

As agents and property experts will tell you, Toowoomba’s real estate market is going crazy right now.
And it’s not hard to see why based on the top-selling homes from every suburb across the city in 2022.
The statistics, collated by The Chronicle based on RP Data and RealEstate.com.au, has revealed most communities’ top-selling house was above $1 million, with several seeing $2 million sales or more.
Sales of unit complexes and large land parcels snapped up by developers have been omitted from this list, with the focus placed on owner-occupiers where possible.

BLUE MOUNTAIN HEIGHTS – 23 Murphys Creek Road

This 70s-era home with stunning views of the Toowoomba escarpment was snapped up by a couple just a few months ago.
The four-bedroom property had been previously sold in 2016 for less than $800,000.
Blue Mountain Heights’ median house price is now $855,000, up 20 per cent in 12 months.
CAWDOR – 44 Holly Avenue

The four-bedroom with 11 car spaces sold this year for the first time since 2014.
Agent Tony Franke said the property was in an “extremely desirable location”.
The home also has a 90,000-litre rainwater tanks and extensive fresh produce garden.
Cawdor has a median price of $900,000 (based on a small sample size), up 56 per cent from a year ago.
CENTENARY HEIGHTS – 4 Edwin Court

A four-bedroom home not far from Ballin Park, this property sold in May for the first time since 2003.
Listing agent Michael Teahan said the home had “plenty of heart and an undeniable family feel”.
Median sales prices for homes in Centenary Heights are up 23 per cent in a year to $510,000.
COTSWOLD HILLS – 2 Christine Court

High-selling Toowoomba agent Matt Hawkins sold this five-bedroom stunner in Cotswold Hills for a massive price-tag just a few months ago.
Cotswold Hills now has a median price of $740,000 according to RealEstate.com.au, up a staggering 31 per cent in a year.
CRANLEY – 15 Bedwell Street

Cranley, which will soon be home to the new Toowoomba Hospital, has been known for its rural farmland in the past.
This four-bedroom home was snapped up for $940,000 in June, which is up from the $482,500 median price in Cranley (an 11 per cent increase in 12 months).
DARLING HEIGHTS – 6 Postle Street

Easily one of the newest homes on this list, the five-bedroom “Hamptons” home in Darling Heights sold for $1.5m after being built in 2021.
“Less than a year old, this property provides a breathtaking option for those looking to have the very best of contemporary living without a compromise on block size, living space or entertainment value while also accommodating the rare feature of a bore only minutes from town,” selling agent Robbie Witt wrote.
The selling price is far higher than the $450,000 median, which itself has grown more than 18 per cent in the past year.
DRAYTON – 709 Anzac Avenue

Sporting distinct architecture and finishings, this magnificent 80s-era home enjoyed a healthy price tag when it was sold in April.
“Spectacular in scale and style, this striking and contemporary residence boasts generous proportions with exquisite living and dining areas,” agent Mark Abra wrote.
Drayton’s median house price is currently at $450,000, up 12.5 per cent since October 2021.
EAST TOOWOOMBA – 615/2-4 Herries Street

Not only one of the highest-selling properties in Toowoomba in 2022, this 500 sqm penthouse also broke the record for a unit sale in the Garden City.
Known as one of Toowoomba’s most luxurious suburbs, East Toowoomba’s average house price is now more than $690,000 (up 12.3 per cent), while its median unit price has actually dropped to $335,000 over the same period.
GLENVALE – 312 Hursley Road

The four-bedroom home on Hursley Road was built in 2017, after a large parcel of land was subdivided.
Glenvale is one of Toowoomba’s fast-growing areas, with median house prices now at $480,000 after being just $397,000 12 months prior (21 per cent growth).
GOWRIE JUNCTION – 323 Gowrie-Tilgonda Road

HARLAXTON – 16A Mabel Street

Sporting four bedrooms and two bathrooms on more than 1000 sqm, the property significantly outperformed its suburb (median price $402,250, up 28 per cent in 12 months).
HARRISTOWN – 21 Melody Drive

Built in 2008 on a hatchet block on the southern side of Harristown, the beautiful contemporary home features six bedrooms and 310 sqm of floor space.
Selling agent Jacqui Walker said it also included a media room, open-plan living and outdoor entertainment areas.
It sold for more than double the current median price in Harristown, which is $430,000 (up 20 per cent in a year).
HIGHFIELDS – 36 Kuhls Road

The most recent sale on this list, 36 Kuhls Road has been dubbed “Misty Mountain” and sits on nearly a hectare of land in Highfields.
It is also just a few hundred metres from the popular Peacehaven Botanic Park.
“Spread across 535 sqm, this magnificent family home offers five bedrooms, two bathrooms, multiple indoor and outdoor living options with a centrally located Bali hut overlooking your heated pool and full sized, flood lit tennis court,” agents Andrew Webster and Sam Marsden wrote.
Highfields is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Toowoomba region, with the median price growing 24 per cent in 12 months to $760,000.
KEARNEYS SPRING – 27 O’Neill Circuit

A new build in the growing suburb of Kearneys Spring, this five-bedroom home was sold through Colliers Toowoomba for a strong price.

Kearneys Spring has a median price of $490,000, up 15.3 per cent in just a year.
KLEINTON – 20 Charmaine Court

This stately home, which was built in 2005, sits on more than 3300 sqm in Kleinton.

One of Toowoomba’s emerging communities, Kleinton’s median house price is currently $680,000 and up 15 per cent in a year.
MIDDLE RIDGE – 5 Glencoe Court

A couple snapped up this late 1980s-era Middle Ridge home through Colliers’ Dominic Ryan and Louise Bizzell, making it one of Toowoomba’s best-selling properties in 2022.
The five-bedroom property includes contemporary amenities and plenty of outdoor area in what has been called a “blue-chip” suburb.
The home sold for just $810,000 less than 10 years ago.
Considered one of Toowoomba’s most lucrative suburbs, Middle Ridge has an average house price of $795,000 (up 24.7 per cent in a year).
MOUNT KYNOCH – 3 Rosewall Court

Mount Kynoch, which will soon be home to thousands of new residents thanks to the upcoming Habitat housing estate, has a median price of $602,500.
This is up an astonishing 35 per cent in just 12 months.
MOUNT LOFTY – 7 Simla Street

Located in one of Toowoomba’s most beautiful suburbs, the four-bedroom property on Simla Street has 373 sqm of floor space.
Little is known about the sale of this Mount Lofty home, as it appears the matter was an off-market transfer.
Mount Lofty is one of the city’s most lucrative markets, with the median price for a house growing 33 per cent in a year to $715,000.
MOUNT RASCAL – 183 Postle Street

“It’s a really unique house, there’s nothing like that,” RealWay Property Partners’ Cooper Watson said.
NEWTOWN – 13 Warra Street

Easily one of the oldest homes on this list, 13 Warra Street was reportedly built in 1880 and features four bedrooms and 200 sqm of floor space.
Selling for $925,000, this was double the price it sold for in 2011.
Newtown is one of Toowoomba’s most historical suburbs, but has enjoyed 25 per cent house price growth in the past year to sit at $425,000.
NORTH TOOWOOMBA – 21 Moloney Street

This 1910s-era home was fully-restored by the previous owner and secured North Toowoomba’s only $1m-plus house sale of 2022 when it transferred in January.

A historical part of the city, North Toowoomba has enjoyed modest growth in its housing market over the past year (up 10.6 per cent to $426,000).
PRESTON – 6 Oakhill Place

This sprawling home just outside Toowoomba was sold for a staggering price back in June through Ecology Property.
The five-bedroom home in the Oakhill Estate includes plenty of space, a pool and great views of the escarpment.
Preston’s median house price is $720,000, down nearly 10 per cent from the previous based on a small sample size.
PRINCE HENRY HEIGHTS – 8/61-63 Prince Henry Drive

Top Camp’s median house price has grown by 33 per cent to $765,000 since 12 months ago.
TORRINGTON – 20 Troys Road

Known more as Toowoomba’s industrial heart, Torrington has developed a growing residential market of late.
The average house price is now $695,000, up 25 per cent from a year ago.
WELLCAMP – 319 Drayton-Wellcamp Road

“Positioned within a peaceful location, its impressive front facade and manicured gardens reveal a selection of voluminous living and a tranquil alfresco entertainment area,” agents Melita Bell and Pam Goodbody wrote in the listing.
Historically considered a working-class suburb, Wilsonton’s market has exploded in the past year.
The average house price is now $406,000, up 21 per cent in 12 months.
WILSONTON HEIGHTS – 20 High Court Drive

Built by local firm GJ Gardner Homes, this four-bedroom house on the outskirts of Wilsonton Heights attracted interest above $600,000.
“This outstanding home was built to raise funds for local children’s charities and no expense was spared,” agent Trevor Manteufel wrote in the listing.
While still one of Toowoomba’s most affordable suburbs, Wilsonton Height’s median house price has risen by 19 per cent to $375,000 in a year.
