Just months after the Queen’s death, the monarchy is being dragged through the mud. Here’s what needs to happen next.

Enough, already.

It’s time for the Montecito moaners to pack away their Louis Vuitton luggage and refrain from darkening the doors of Buckingham Palace for good.

The latest revelations in the Netflix Harry & Meghan docuseries will further drive a knife into the heart of the royal family.

By aiming his so-called “truth bombs” at those once closest to him, Prince Harry has damaged his relationships with Prince William and King Charles beyond repair. By claiming his father said things “that just weren’t true” and Prince William “screamed and shouted” during the infamous Sandringham showdown, Prince Harry has really done the dirty on his brother and father. His unsubtle suggestion he was upstaging the heir to the throne by doing a better job was also a spiteful and unnecessary attack.

It’s a dismal state of affairs for the once-close siblings who, according to royal author Robert Lacey, once made a childhood pact with their late mother Princess Diana that they would always be best friends.

Their brotherly love — and the promise that it once held for future royal generations — now lies bleeding from veiled comments and petulant digs as the Sussexes continue to launch their unrelenting attacks on the monarchy.

Prince Harry insists that he “gets” where Prince William is coming from, and his need to protect the institution, but his actions suggest a meanness of spirit towards his older brother.

Even more heartbreaking is the fact that the tawdry Sussex soap opera comes after the death of the Queen, who would be appalled that her motto of “never complain, never explain” was being so brutally violated.

It is undeniably sad that just months after Her Majesty’s passing, the monarchy is being dragged through the mud by way of a shallow reality TV-style series.

While the couple were generally respectful towards the Queen, Prince Harry’s revelation that she sat by during the Sandringham showdown could be read as an accusation. And what are we to make of the claim that the Queen invited the Sussexes over, and then did nothing while the event was dropped from her schedule?

Meghan Markle, whose past actions have revealed she wants to be “royal” without actually carrying out the sometimes dull duties this entails, has got her wish.

Global fame and entry into an elite world which, according to numerous royal experts, she has for decades longed to be part of, with the likes of Tyler Perry and that other Queen – Beyonce – seemingly her new besties.

Prince Harry and his wife want us to see their “side of the story”. Oh, we’ve seen it, that’s for sure.

Transfixed Netflix viewers got a glimpse from their couch into a world of effortless glamour, mind-boggling privilege and unimaginable wealth.

A parallel universe filled with stately homes around the world, magnificent Californian sunsets, picture-perfect children and private airport suites.

In a time when many are struggling to pay their mortgages and cope with the soaring cost of living, forgive us if we find it difficult to cope with the Sussexes’ seemingly unending plight.

If this disingenuous pair continue to trash the royal brand, how on earth can they justify their titles?

It is still not clear if Prince Harry and Ms Markle will be banned from King Charles’ coronation in May next year.

Surely even they wouldn’t have the gall to turn up after everything they’ve done — or maybe they would?

The time has come for decisive action.

In order to move forward and put an end to this selfish pair’s peddling of conspiracy theories about the media and Buckingham Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex must be stripped of their titles.

This is something that could actually happen if a new private members’ bill achieves success in the UK parliament.

The proposed bill would enable King Charles to remove titles within the royal family at his own discretion.

Although heartbreaking and painful for all involved, such a move would restore the monarchy’s dignity and honour the late Queen’s legacy.
