Woman hospitalised after motel fire in Toowoomba

A woman has been taken to hospital after a fire overnight at a Toowoomba motel. Here’s what we know.

A woman has been taken to hospital after a motel fire in Toowoomba overnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Boundary St, Cotswold Hills just after 1.30am to find a room had caught on fire.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze at 2.20am.

Six patients were assessed on scene, one woman in her 30s was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition with smoke inhalation.

It’s understood all occupants at the motel were able to evacuate themselves and no other injuries were reported.

A Queensland Police spokesman said detectives are investigating and the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Queensland Fire Department investigator will also attend the scene later on Sunday.
