A Garbutt artist has created a Santa statue for Charters Towers this Christmas
Local artist Zakariah Martin-Taylor spent 150 hours creating a two metre tall Santa, which has been unveiled at Goldtower Central.

Charters Towers’ beloved statue The World will feature a festive friend this Christmas.
The Goldtower Central attraction has been joined by a two metre tall Santa, created by Rising Sun FPV artist Zakariah Martin-Taylor.
Mr Matin-Taylor’s team spent 150 hours creating the Santa, and are pleased to finally see their hard work pay off.
Goldtower owner Paul McIver said he hopes the festive addition can spread some Christmas cheer with the community.
The seven metre high statue is a testament to the history of Charters Towers, receiving more than 50,000 check ins.
Santa Claus was installed on Friday, and locals can visit the festive site until the holiday season is over.
