Townsville

Christmas is only a day away, and essential stores have revealed their holiday trading hours. Residents are being reminded to check their local store’s opening times to see whether they are closed or have limited hours, as location times may vary.
Woolworths
Limited trading hours on Christmas Eve, stores open 8am – 6pm. All stores will be closed on Christmas Day, reopening with limited hours from 9am – 6pm on Boxing Day.
Coles
Stores will be open 7am – 6pm on Christmas Eve, and closed Christmas Day. All stories will be open on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but will only be open 9am – 6pm both days.
Aldi
The Thuringowa store will be open 8:30am – 6pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. Limited trading hours will be in place on Boxing Day, 9am – 6pm, and New Year’s Day, 10am – 6pm.
IGA
Stores are set to close an hour earlier on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. Stores will reopen from 8am – 8pm on Boxing Day. Limited New Years eve and New Years day hours. Location hours may vary.
Townsville Shopping Centre
The centre will remain open from 8am – 5pm on Christmas Eve and will close Christmas Day, reopening from 9am – 6pm Boxing Day. Limited New Year’s Day hours, stores opening from 10am – 4pm. Individual store trading times may vary
Petrol Stations (Ampol, BP, Caltex, 711, Shell)
All stores are set to maintain regular trading hours. Residents can check their local store’s hours online.
Liquor Stores (BWS, Liquorland, Dan Murphy’s)
All liquor stores will be closed Christmas Day and open as normal on Christmas Eve. Stores will be open under regular hours Boxing Day, but reduced hours on New Year’s Day.
