Lightning has struck the same place twice after a Townsville man miraculously won $50,000 two times in the same Keno draw on Monday.

After visiting his local watering hole The Sun Hotel and putting down a bet on Keno Mega Millions, the local resident thought his eyes were deceiving him after discovering that he’d be taking home not just one $50,000 Keno win, but two.

Speaking after a Keno official confirmed the windfall on Tuesday morning, the man said, “I couldn’t believe it”.

“I’ve never won anything so big. This is definitely the most I’ve ever won,” he said.

“I saw my numbers come up on the screen, and I had to check the tickets immediately.

“I didn’t go there last night for anything special, but without a doubt, it will be a night to remember.”

Still struggling to comprehend the win, the man said he was still unsure how he would spend the prize money.

“I know it will go to good use once the prize hits my bank account,” he said.

Last year, Keno players across the eastern states of Australia celebrated more than 76.25 million wins collectively worth more than $1bn, with 10 millionaires crowned in Queensland.
