Toowoomba man charged with assaulting police officer, paramedic
A female police officer and male paramedic, who had gone to check on a man’s welfare at Toowoomba, were allegedly assaulted for their trouble, with one requiring hospital treatment.

A Toowomba man has been charged with several counts of assault after he allegedly punched a police officer and paramedic in the face and head.
The pair responded to a welfare check at a home on Wallaby Drive, Cyprus Gardens, on Friday about 5.30pm.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the 34-year-old man from Cypress Gardens then allegedly assaulted the female police officer and male paramedic.
The man charged with one count of serious assault of a police officer, serious assault of a public officer, assault occasioning bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed.
He was due to appear Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Saturday.
The female police officer required treatment and was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital.
