Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery of a hotel in Newtown that saw a man force his way into the business while armed with a machete.
About 4.50am a man entered the Gowrie Hotel on Bridge St and threatened staff before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
The man was last seen in the vicinity of Vera St wearing a black cap, black jumper and light coloured pants.
Police are appealing for help from anyone who may have seen people or a vehicle in the area, or anyone with CCTV between 4am and 5am.
