Paramedics called after child found unresponsive in backyard pool in Stanthorpe

A young child is fighting for their life after they were found unconscious in a pool.

A young boy will be flown to Brisbane for emergency treatment after he was found unresponsive in a backyard pool.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to a private address in Glen Niven, north of Stanthorpe after reports the boy suffered a medical episode while in the pool about 2.20pm on Friday.

A QAS spokesman said the boy was in a critical condition.

He was transported to the Stanthorpe Hospital to meet with a rescue helicopter for further transport to Brisbane.
