Toowoomba mum claims $1.2m lotto win while at work

There have been five division one wins in the Darling Downs this year, collectively worth more than $5.3 million.

$17,000 worth of prizes on offer for fully vaccinated Aussies

A Toowoomba mum is trying to decide whether she should go back to work after discovering she’s a newly-minted Lotto millionaire during her lunch break.

The Darling Downs resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4197, drawn Saturday 9 October 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $1,234,425.81.

When an official from The Lott called the hardworking woman this morning, she had absolutely no idea her life had changed forever.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! I had no clue,” she said.

“I’m speechless. I started work early this morning and only just went on my lunch break, I noticed I had a few missed calls and I was a bit confused!

“It’s going to be hard to think straight for the rest of the day! This is absolutely life changing.

When asked how she might spend her good fortune, the euphoric woman was too mind-boggled to make any concrete plans.

“I can’t believe it. I’m too shocked to think right now,” she said.

“I know this will help my family and in significant ways.”

Her winning entry was purchased online at thelott.com.
