Toowoomba loses one of its many iconic BBQ chicken shops

One of Toowoomba’s roast chicken fast food outlets has closed its doors last month, but the franchise says there’s still more opportunities for more stores to open in and around the Garden City.

With nearly a dozen fast food outlets dedicated solely to barbecue chicken, it’s obvious Toowoomba residents are big fans of the classic roast chook, not too mentioned and a well-seasoned chip or two.

Supporters of the iconic Australian roast chicken franchise, Red Rooster may be disappointed to learn the North Toowoomba store on the corner of Ruthven and Griffiths Streets will no longer be among this list of local outlets after it ceased trading late last month.

A spokeswoman from Red Rooster said this particular restaurant has not had its lease renewed but mentioned the Red Rooster brand was currently looking for new options for additional stores within the Garden City region.

“Red Rooster is definitely looking for new opportunities and sites for restaurants in the area as Toowoomba is a very important location for our brand,” she said.

“There are four other Red Rooster stores still operating in Toowoomba including the Wilsonton store which is still open and trading five minutes away from the North Toowoomba location.”
