More than 20 teams took to the Toowoomba Showgrounds at the weekend in support and memory of loved ones who have or continue to battle cancer.
The Toowoomba 2022 Relay For Life raised more than $35,000, with one group fundraising more than $4000 in honour of their friend and mum.
Shaz’s Breasties, in honour of Sharon Leigh Jessen, walked the showgrounds track for more than seven hours on Saturday.
The mother of four passed away from breast cancer in 2020, at the age of 45.
”I grew up with Sharon, I was her childhood girlfriend, and we come up from Brisbane to raise money throughout the year,” Shaz’s Breasties captain Danelle Ward said.
“She was always very generous and very giving.

Mrs Ward said the group, made up of Mrs Jessen’s friends and family, had raised more than $10,000 over several years in her name.
