Photos: Look inside local produce highlighted at The Chef’s Table

The elegant dining experience showcased pork, fish, goat, eggs and beef from a selection of producers throughout the region.

Producers from across the region have showcased a range of flavours for diners at a recent event.

Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise recently hosted The Chef’s Table at the historical Jimbour House – an event where 150 people enjoyed a five-course gourmet lunch featuring local meat and produce.

The elegant dining experience had pork, fish, goat, eggs and beef offerings from local businesses Aussie Pork Suppliers, Condabilla Fish, Woods Group, Grassland Goats, SunPork Fresh Foods, KCRidge and Jimbour Beef.

“The chef’s use of Condabilla Fish was very refreshing and a different style of using it,” Condabilla Fish owner Maryann Bender said.

“It’s exciting because not many people realise what’s actually produced out in the country, this far out and the quality as well because you don’t realise what’s out here.”

Grassland Goats director Keeleigh Allport said she was also impressed with how her produce had been featured at the event.

“It was delicious – it was really great to see how it was used today and just the different flavours and presentation was fantastic,” Ms Allport said.

“We’re really happy to be a part of The Chef’s Table and hope we can start encouraging people to start eating goat meat and putting it on their menu at home.”

Highlighting the fresh and quality ingredients available in the region with the intention that they will be selected for more menus, Brisbane’s Dalton Catering chefs said they were impressed with the produce.
