THERE’S one day Goombungee resident Jade Schultz looks forward to every year, and it’s one that brings colour and life to the small Darling Downs town.
The annual Jacaranda Day at Goombungee was a welcome boost to the local economy, with hundreds flocking in from all over Queensland to see the spectacle.
“The town comes alive,” Ms Schultz said.
“Every small business ends up with business so that’s great.
“The kids get a day out and everyone gets to decorate the trees.
“We only have a few things that happen out here and Jacaranda Day is a big day for us.”
Residents and visitors enjoyed live entertainment, markets, workshops, and art displays all under a canopy of purple.
