A business dedicated to celebrating diversity and inclusivity has wowed crowds at it recent showcase.
Newly established small business Lok and Kee The Experience hosted a sold-out crowd at the Toowoomba Powerhouse at the weekend for its Sideshow Femme production.
“It went absolutely fabulously,” owner Teela Strang said.
“We had a great combination of performers and talent, and the feedback from guests was next level … it’s absolutely incredible.”
A dedicated cabaret bar experience offering burlesque, drag, aerials and more, and Mrs Strang said there was a strong sense of accomplishment after a lot of hard work.
“To have your city and community get behind something you dreamt of for so long and love it and see what I have always seen … it’s almost overwhelming,” she said.
Mrs Strang she was excited to see more residents embrace the shows and see the city grow and progress from the previous religious ties the majority of the community had.
“Diversity matters and everyone has a right to feel like they belong and that they belong in a safe place,” she said.
