Located on Russell St, City Cave Toowoomba offers sensory deprivation float therapy, infra-red saunas and massages, with options to combine the three.
After enjoying float therapy at the Ipswich branch of the franchise, City Cave Toowoomba owner Amy Luscombe decided to bring the service to the city.
“After I walked out I thought, Toowoomba needs this,” Ms Luscombe said.
“It was like going to a concert, after you’ve gone once you want to go again.
“I decided to open the business not to make money but to change people’s lives.”
Ms Luscombe said float therapy had many benefits, which included lowering stress levels.
“We have three baths and each session you float for an hour,” she said.
“It’s great for helping muscle recovery and it also has benefits for people suffering from anxiety and depression.
“The water is at skin temperature so you don’t even notice it – your body feels weightless.”
Ms Luscombe said cleanliness was a top priority for the business and each bath would have 15 cycles of water pumped through it prior to reuse.
She added each bath contained nearly 400 kgs of Epsom salts.
“It’s taken us 12 months to set up and COVID delayed us quite a bit,” Ms Luscombe said.
“The pain that we’ve gone through to get here has been worth it.
“I think people are appreciative to have float therapy here.”
City Cave Toowoomba is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm.
