Firefighters, ambulance officers called to assist climber who fell 5m in Main Range National Park
A hiker who fell 6m down a ledge at Main Range National Park on Tuesday morning has been flown to hospital.

UPDATE: A Woman was flown to hospital after a mammoth rescue effort in the Main Range National Park on Tuesday morning.
The hiker was about 3km along the Mount Cordeaux track at Cunningham’s Gap when she fell 6m onto a ledge before 7am.
She injured her ankle and was unable to get back up.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance officers made their way along the track to reach her.
A vertical rescue crew was able to retrieve the woman and bring her back to the path, where she was assessed by paramedics.
It was there that crews waited for a helicopter, which winched the hiker out of the national park and flew her to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
A specialty rescue crew, State Emergency Service workers and three fire crews were involved in the rescue.
EARLIER: Rescue crews have been called to Main Range National Park to retrieve a hiker who has fallen on the Mount Cordeaux track.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fall was reported at 7am Tuesday and four crews had gone to the Cunningham’s Gap scene.
The spokeswoman said there were reports the hiker was injured after falling about 5m and was unable to make it back out from the track.
Paramedics have also arrived at the scene.
It is understood crews reached the hiker, who was on a ledge 6m below the track and was believed to have a broken ankle.
