Ergon Energy linesmen are working to locate the source of a fault that has cut power to 1600 homes and businesses in Rangeville this morning.
The power outage occurred about 6.42am and is ongoing.
An Ergon Energy spokesman said there were reports of a loud bang in the Sheals Street area but workers are yet to find the source.
There is no estimate on when power will be restored.
