Darling Downs Health taking applications for immunisation nurses

Applications are now being taken to be a part of history and help on the front line of our region’s battle against Covid-19.

What to expect from Covid post-vaccination

Darling Downs Health has started a recruitment drive, asking nurses to help on the frontline of the region’s Covid-19 vaccination program.

Opportunities exist for suitably qualified immunisation program nurses to register their interest to help in vaccination clinics across the health district.

“This is a great opportunity for immunisation nurses to be on the frontline in our response to the Covid-19 pandemic,” Darling Downs Health executive director workforce Hayley Farry said.

“We have seen an incredible response from our existing nursing staff many of whom have volunteered to work in our testing and, now, vaccination clinics.

“As we anticipate our vaccination efforts ramping up, we need more staff to facilitate the roll out.”

Darling Downs Health has vaccinated more than 10,000 people since the first dose given in March.

“Many of our staff have really enjoyed being a part of this program. Our communities have been so responsive and grateful in receiving their vaccinations, making for a great work environment,” Ms Farry said.
