Darling Downs Health continues efforts to spread Covid-19 vaccinations across the region
After a statewide Covid-19 vaccination blitz last weekend, more hubs will operate across the region from tomorrow as 60 per cent of the eligible population become fully vaccinated.

Vaccination efforts will continue across the Darling Downs as health authorities attempt to accelerate the number of jabs in arms.
A total of 1230 Covid-19 jabs were administered at school hubs in the Darling Downs region over the weekend as part of the state government’s “Super Saturday” vaccination blitz, while more than 1300 doses were administered at the Toowoomba Community Vaccination Clinic on Saturday and Sunday.
The Darling Downs and West Moreton Public Health Network had a record-breaking week of vaccinations with more than 2600 rolled out across the PHN’s 24 vaccination sites.
As of October 25, 78 per cent of people over the age of 15 have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccination according to data from the Commonwealth Department of Health, with 62.3 per cent of people are now fully vaccinated, a four per cent increase on last week.
Darling Downs Health acting executive lead for Covid-19 response Michelle Forrest said while they’re pleased with the community’s response to the weekend blitz, more opportunities to receive the vaccination would become available from tomorrow.
“This week we’ll be at Miles Hospital providing the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine on October 27-29,” she said.
“The clinic is open to anyone 12 and over. Bookings are preferred and can be made via www.vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au.
“We’re also looking forward to a pop-up walk-in clinic providing doses of the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine this weekend at the Arthur Postle Gift event at Club Pittsworth on Saturday October 30 from 1pm to 4pm.
“Darling Downs Health will also provide doses of the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine at a clinic at the Warwick Leslie Park Rodeo Markets from 8.30am to 1pm this Saturday, October 30.
“We are also scheduling more opportunities for people in the Cherbourg community to receive their vaccinations later this week.”
Across the state nearly 29,000 vaccines were delivered as 60.7 per cent of eligible Queenslanders become fully vaccinated.
An impressive 95 per cent of people aged over 70 now have at least one shot, and 84 per cent are fully vaccinated, which is above the 75.2 one jab state average.
