Consumer demand grows farmers' market

With an ever-expanding fanbase, a popular Toowoomba business will cement itself with an official store.

Rita Faulks created Charlie and Mia’s Barkery seven years ago when she wanted to give her furbabies high quality, preservatives and additive free food.

“It has taken me seven years to get the courage to take this step,” she said.

“People have always asked when I'm going to open a shop, so I thought, ‘I’ve got to do this’.”

Charlie and Mia’s Barkery is set to have its own store front at the former Red Rooster site on Ruthven Street, with doors to open in five to six weeks.

“If people are time poor, like so many of us are, they will be able to use the Doggie Drive Thru,” she said.

“They can order what they would like on our website, and when they give me an estimated time, I can make sure it’s all packaged up and ready to go.

“It’s very exciting, and it’s all thanks to our Barkery family who have supported us all the way.”

Customers can still purchase goods at the Toowoomba Farmers and Makers Markets.
