What started out as a hobby crocheting toys for her grandchildren has now grown into a business helping to bring smiles to kid’s faces.
A partnership between Amanda Watts and her daughter Jennifer Poulton, Crochet By Grandma was one of many stalls at the Maker’s Markets Toowoomba – Mums and Bubs Expo held at The Mills Precinct on Sunday.
“My mum makes all the toys, she was making them for my daughter, who is five now, and when she got too many of them we decided to open a market stall,” Ms Poulton said.
“It really was just a hobby, but my mum loves doing them.
“She gets the ideas for the characters from the internet and goes from there.
“They’re so bright and colourful and the kids love them so it’s really great that she can share her creations with others.”
Ms Poulton said her mum had been making her crochet creations for more than seven years.
