PROPERTY developer Clive Berghofer has been approved for the latest stage of a large housing estate in Toowoomba's southern suburbs.
The Toowoomba Regional Council this week gave the green light for Mr Berghofer's company Jeteld to proceed with the third stage of its Kearney West subdivision, bordering Kearney and West Sts in Kearneys Spring.
The latest stage of the development featured 46 lots, reconfigured from four original parcels of land.
In his assessment report, TRC planning officer Geoff Broadbent found the stage was consistent with the low-medium density requirements for the area in the council's planning scheme.
The council included more than 90 conditions for the company to follow regarding the development.
The applicant was required to submit an independent report into electromagnetic fields, after the council highlighted the stage's proximity to an Ergon Energy substation.
The report found the substation posed no risk to landholders, and no changes were required.
According to the Clive Berghofer Land Sales website, the first stage of the Kearney West subdivision, now under construction, will feature NBN to all properties and plenty of footpaths.
"A pedestrian footpath and exercise trail will be constructed (and) these green spaces, together will the Carly Hibberd Park in (neighbouring) Kearney East Estate, provide open space for the kids to run and play," it said.
"The network of concrete footpaths throughout both of the Kearney St developments will encourage exercise and provide access to the Nelson St bus stop.
"All lots in stage one will have house pads constructed ready for building, and the estate will be sewered with underground services and NBN."
