The stage has been set for the inaugural bout in Toowoomba’s pro wrestling championship with 20 of Australia’s top fighters primed to take over Clifford Park.

The Racecourse Rumble will open with a 20 man (and woman) battle royal followed by individual one-on-one bouts ending with two title fights.

Atomic Pro Wrestling founder Haydn McMurtrie said the night promised to be a great family evening of big hits and big personalities.

“We want the crowd to go home happy but also interested in seeing what happens next,” he said.

“There is a story that will develop through the bouts.

“It will be like Bold and the Beautiful meets Rocky.”

The fighters will come from across the east coast and each one is a champion in their own right, having won at least one title.

The main event pits Rip Riley against EC Brownie.

“They are both two heavyweights going head to head,” McMurtrie said.

“These blokes are big rigs.”

The second main fight will be a women’s match with Kyla Knight taking on Lucille Brawl.

“I am really happy that we are able to put on a women’s match because while women's’ pro wrestling exists in Queensland it’s not massive,” she said.

Tickets are on sale at In a Dash Coffee, Toowoomba Bearings and Hydraulics and Clifford Park Racecourse or online.

Doors open at 5pm, December 10 at Clifford Park Racecourse on Hursley Road.
