1. Visit Murphys Creek Markets

The next Murphys Creek Markets will be taking place this Saturday at the Murphy Creek Grounds from 7am to 12.30pm with a donation to their selected charities at 11am.

2. See the Little Mermaid live on stage

Highlands Christian College Secondary school are performing their musical The Little Mermaid across the weekend with three performances on Friday night, a Saturday matinee and a Saturday night show.

3. Visit Pechey Distillery

Pechey Distilling Co. are hosting another summer open door and tasting day this Saturday.

It’s bound to be a lot of fun, especially with the release of their highly anticipated spiced cane spirit.

Head along and try a few of their top notch local spirits from 11am-5pm, just note the distillery recommend allowing up to 30 minutes for the tasting experience, and there can be a wait during busy times.

4. Celebrate at George Banks’ Margarita Festival

Put on a bright, Mexican-inspired outfit and head on up to George Banks to celebrate World Margarita Day this Saturday night on their magical rooftop.

5. Take on the Hike to Heal scavenger challenge

Hike to Heal is an event to help others impacted by mental health issues to raise community awareness, and funds for local mental health services, taking place from this Saturday (February 20) to next Sunday (February 28).

6. Explore Antibody at the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery

Local artist Aurora Elwell playfully explores themes of being physically disrupted and hurt in her first solo exhibition Antibody which is on display at the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery this Saturday 10.30am-3.30pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm.

For an opportunity to learn more about Elwell’s artistic practice and work, she will be hosting her own ‘Meet the Artist’ event at the gallery on Sunday starting at 1.30pm.

7. Get your fresh produce at Queens Park markets

No weekend in Toowoomba is complete without a visit to the Queens Park markets on every third Sunday of the month.

Pick up all your fresh produce for the week and peruse all of the wonderful handmade items from 8am-1pm at Frogs Hollow on Hume St.

8. Groovin’ in the Garden at Chinchilla Botanical Parklands

Enjoy a low-cost afternoon in the stunning Chinchilla Botanic Parkland this Saturday from 4pm-9pm. BYO picnic rug and enjoy an evening of great live local and regional music, as well as local food vendors, bar facilities, and lawn games this event is bound to be a hit with the while family.

9. Pick up some groovy items at the Pillar Street market day

Head along to a Sip and Dip workshop this Saturday from 5pm at the Coffee Club on Margaret St and learn how to make your very own funky resin earrings.
