SUPER Rooster customers who visit the Alderley St store would have noticed there is something different about the  popular fast-food chain.

For the first time in 21 years the drive-through store has been renovated.

Ray Klarich and his wife Elena moved to Toowoomba in 1983 to open their first Super Rooster store at Southtown.

Over the years the restaurant's tasty chicken and crispy chips have become a cult favourite with Toowoomba and Darling Downs residents.

As of last Friday, the store has a fresh, modern look but with the same good old-fashioned items on the menu.

The inside has been revamped with a new look with changes to the menu board, floor, front counter, benches and stools.

The outside area has expanded with more seating and the store windows can be completely opened so residents can see out while dining inside.

Mr Klarich said he wanted to make sure the store still gave off a family-friendly feel.

"My son Kris worked on all the internals and we gradually moved outside," he said.

"In this day and age there is a lot more alfresco dining and opening seating plans.

"We have upgraded slightly over the years but the whole idea was to make the place as modern as possible to keep up with the trends.

"We haven't changed the menu at all because our customers are happy with our menu as it is.

"It isn't complicated and people know what they are coming to get every time. It is our traditional menu but with a fresh looking store."

The plan is to renovate the Wilsonton store next.
