Aston Martin driver books court date as luxury sports car slams into bus stop after leaving hotel

A luxury car was allegedly evading police when it drove away from a hotel at high speed. Minutes later it was spotted in a wreck at a bus stop.

A driver will appear in court after crashing his luxury sports car into a bus stop at Gilles Plains after the car was allegedly seen leaving a hotel car park at speed.

Police alleged about 7.14pm on Tuesday, patrols attempted to stop a blue Aston Martin Vantage sedan on North East Rd.

The Aston Martin was seen leaving a hotel car park at high speed but the car was not pursued and extra police were called to the area to search for the vehicle, cops said.

Within just minutes, a witness reported seeing the sedan in Wandana Avenue where it had crashed into a bus stop shelter.

The driver, a 50-year-old Gilles Plains man was located nearby in Tamala Cresc.

Police say he was not injured and returned negative tests for both drugs and alcohol.

He was reported for aggravated driving without due care, driving in a dangerous manner and driving unlicensed.

He was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice relative to the offences and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
