A new clothing store that pays homage to the owner’s grassroots is now open.

After years of working as a high school teacher, Renee Elsden, 38, decided she needed a change and left the classroom to open up her own clothing store in the town of Pittsworth.

With a focus on quality and honouring the region and agriculture sector, Top Paddock Clothing opened its doors this week after several months of preparation.

“Growing up in Roma and now living on a cotton and grain farm, I appreciate the hard work, labour and time that it takes to get from the paddock and turn into a polo shirt or piece of clothing,” Ms Elsden said.

“I’ve really tried to incorporate that family connection to the land on both sides.”

Paying homage to her grassroots, Ms Elsden has old family photos hung up instore, of her great uncle who was a rodeo clown and her husband’s family sitting on tractors and harvesting.
