A Warwick man busted driving at the weekend by police was allegedly almost three times the limit.

A 35-year-old man was intercepted at 2am on Saturday, July 27, on Helane St by police.

Police will allege the man blew a reading of 0.148 BAC, almost three times over the limit.

Disturbingly, the road is a busy thoroughfare connecting to the New England Highway and Albion St, which sees both local traffic and heavy vehicles, including trucks travelling interstate.

Last month in an unrelated incident, it was the scene of a cattle truck rolling and catching fire, resulting in damaged infrastructure, road closure and some animals to be tragically culled.

Warwick police will remind the public that offenders will get busted and that they are patrolling the region at all hours.

The man is expected to front court next month.
