An elderly man is expected to face alleged historic sex crimes, with the next steps in the matter heard in court.

The man, aged in his late 80s, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of the alleged victims, had his matter mentioned in Warwick Magistrates Court on September 25.

The man did not appear in court, and has not entered a plea to any charges.

It is understood the defence for the man have received the full brief of evidence in relation to the alleged offending.

It is unknown when the alleged crimes are said to have happened at this stage.

The man stands accused of nine total charges of indecent treatment of children under 16, under 12 as a descendant, guardian or carer (lineal), and two charges of indecent treatment of children under 16 (lineal)

The matter will be next heard on November 27.
