Reason behind couple’s bittersweet decision to sell popular business

It’s the end of an era for the hardworking couple behind a popular Toowoomba restaurant, who have decided to sell their venture. Here’s why.

Last day for Sizzler

A popular Toowoomba business famous for its steaks and southern-style, pork spare ribs, has been listed for sale.

Steakhouse 48 is currently listed with Justin Reisinger at Link Business Brokers.

The decision was a bittersweet one for owners Nick Luck and Caity Jones, who thanked customers for their support over the past five years.

“We have seen couples evolve from awkward first dates to engagements and marriages, to welcoming the next generation of little ones,” Mr Luck said.

“Then we’ve shared birthdays, anniversaries and been there to farewell loves ones … to be trusted with such important occasions is truly humbling.”

While the couple plan to open new business ventures in the future, they will first be taking a well-deserved break to focus on family.

“After five years of building Steakhouse 48 to be what it is today, we have decided it’s time to focus on our four beautiful children to create some lasting memories,” Ms Jones said.

“We are so excited to see what our future holds and hope to see you all for a great steak and cold beer before we leave.”
