After years of running three businesses, a husband and wife have made the bittersweet decision to sell their ventures.
In 2015, Dean Iddon and Chris Barnett decided to purchase Janelle’s Kitchen – a 26-year-old Toowoomba business specialising in home-cooked, ready-to-eat meals.
Combining their loves for food and people, the pair later launched two additional businesses JK’s Picnics and Platters and L’Amour Chocolate.
But now the couple have made the difficult decision to sell their three businesses with the option to include their commercial kitchen in the sale.
“A lot of our customers are elderly, so when Covid-19 happened and retirement villages were forced to close their kitchens, our business increased,” Mr Iddon said.
“The day we sell is going to be a really sad one for us because we just love what we do so much and I’ve grown so attached to our customers.
“Chris has a couple of spinal injuries after she was in a couple of accidents and her condition is worsening so our priority now is to get her health back on track.”
