A woman has been hospitalised after being hit by a car while riding her bike in the Whitsundays.
Paramedics were called to Shingley Dr, near Shute Harbour Rd just before 8am by a bystander.

The incident occured on Shingley Dr, close to Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach.

A QAS spokesman confirmed that paramedics treated an adult female patient with head and neck injuries and transferred her to Proserpine Hospital in stable condition.

Police are performing an investigation into the crash.
